Outside-In tree-night KATNISS climbs a tree slowly and quietly hoping to escape from her enemies below. She went up and up high on the tree so her enemies wouldn't catch her for a while. She then finds a safe spot hidden high upon the tree using a rope to attach herself to the tree to sit down and rest. The next morning, KATNISS sees the beehive and starts to climb up the tree toward it quietly. CEASER is sitting in a dark newscasting room "For those of you that don't know, Tracker Jackers, are genetically engineered Wasps whose venom causes searing pain, powerful hallucinations and in some cases death." She eases along the tree to reach the beehive, getting stung multiple times. She uses a knife that was thrown at her to slowly (takes a long time) cut the beehive down. At 10 PM. on Wednesday one Janice Jones was eating a pork chop in her trailer. As she was eating her dog knocked a 9 millimeter hand gun off of a table. When it hit the ground, it went off and hit Janice in the leg. The bullet continued traveling and lodged itself only two inches from the gas tank. Jones was rushed to a hospital in Huntington Beach. Later she was transported to a hospital in Irvine California. Her dog was kept with Animal Control officers where they discovered that it was malnourished and had multiple cigarette burns. However, that was not the only illegal thing Jones had done. The police searched her trailer and found that the handgun had been purchased illegally.

An earthquake hit the San Fransisco area at 8:12 AM PDT. The quake came in at a 6.4 on the Richter scale and destroyed a large amount of property. McHenry's Auto Supply (2342, Plum Street) was one of the many places that got affected by the quake. The building later collapsed and killed two people and injuring six. Three of the injured were in critical condition and were rushed to the hospital. A man across the street from McHenry's said that he could feel the quake come in and spike around fifteen seconds into it. The quake was felt from hundreds of miles away from the epicenter in Hayward Hills. Firefighters came to McHenry's and supported the building with ropes. However, the ropes couldn't hold forever which resulted in the 2 deaths and 6 injuries.
